The RecordJacket.com™ National Requestor Database is designed to speed the completion of requests and facilitate the electronic transfer of records from provider to provider.
Release of Information
RecordJacket.com™ users who are fulfilling requests for disclosure of medical records can locate the shipping and billing information for frequent requestors, such as insurance companies and law firms, by searching the National Requestor Database on a state-by-state basis. Once a requestor is located, the RecordJacket.com™ system will automatically complete the process required to move the request to the shipping and billing phase.
If a requestor is not already in the database for a specific state, the RecordJacket.com™ user will enter the requestor information into the system in order for the requestor to be registered in that state’s database.
Provider-to-Provider Transfer
RecordJacket.com™ enables the secure delivery of electronic records between providers to improve the speed and accuracy of this important communication. Providers wishing to send records electronically will follow these steps:
- The RecordJacket.com™ National Requestor Database is searched for providers who have registered with and had their technical capabilities verified by RecordJacket.com™
- Records ready for electronic transmission are submitted to RecordJacket.com™ over a highly secure link
- The registered receiving provider is notified by e-mail how to obtain sent records on the RecordJacket.com™ Web site, including a secure link and unique password
If a receiving provider is not registered in the RecordJacket.com™ database then:
- The sending provider enters the potential receiving provider’s e-mail address and assigns a unique password appropriate only for that release
- RecordJacket.com™ contacts the receiving provider to verify its e-mail address and provide the unique password
- The receiving provider is then asked to register on RecordJacket.com™ to retrieve the records and become part of the provider database
Once registered, providers are able to receive electronic copies of patient records from any RecordJacket.com™ customer. Registration is a one-time event for all providers.
